Grade 6 and exam-prep logic questions
Logic questions for grade 6 and exam prep (Turkey’s LGS): pre-algebra word problems, patterns, percentages, probability, ordering and truth-teller puzzles. Free printable PDF and solving strategies.
Why does logic matter for the exam?
Turkey’s LGS exam questions are long, skill-based and multi-step. Regular logic practice in grade 6 builds reading comprehension, data organising and option elimination early.
Question types
- Pre-algebra problems: “7 less than 3 times, 5 more than 2 times”
- Patterns: the general rule in matchstick and shape patterns
- Percentages and fractions: price rise and discount traps
- Ordering and placement: ordering with conditions — Order Workshop
- Counting and probability: dice, painted cube
- Truth-teller puzzles: “Only one tells the truth”
4-step solving strategy
- Read the text twice: On the first read grasp the situation; on the second, separate the question and the conditions.
- Organise the data: Visualise the information with a table, diagram or bar model.
- Eliminate options: Cross out the cases that break the conditions one by one.
- Check your answer: Check the answer by plugging it into every condition.
Example: a truth-teller puzzle
In “only one statement is true” questions, assume each option in turn and count how many statements are true. Talk this method through with your child; answer keys for the free PDF are not published.

Frequently asked questions
Do logic questions prepare for the exam?
They build the reading, data-organising and elimination skills that skill-based questions need; they don't replace topic review.
How many questions per week in grade 6?
10–15 logic questions a week, writing out the solution path for each, is a good start.
Is there an answer key?
Answer keys for the free pages aren't published; levelled sets with solutions are in the puzzle packs.
