Practice tips for ages 9 and up

  1. Choose a hard question: The question a child can't solve straight away but doesn't give up on is the most instructive one.
  2. Write down the solution path: Next to the answer, write one sentence on how it was found.
  3. Talk strategy: Name the strategies: guess and check, make a table, work backwards.
  4. Make it harder: Move from 4×4 to 6×6 sudoku, and from futoshiki to magic squares.
